Eat. Nourish. Glow.

After seeing Sam Smith's amazing weight loss, the first thing I did was find out what plan he had been following to see if it would be something that would work for me.

'Eat. Nourish. Glow.' Written by Amelia Freer, was the book he had followed and had spoken highly of how it had changed his mindset when it comes to food.

Reading further about Sam's weight loss, I realised that a lot of what he spoke about - his relationship with food- was very similar to mine. I love my food and it centres around a lot of my daily thoughts. My family laugh that all my memories revolve around food and I know that not only do I eat too much but I also make unhealthy choices.

I ordered the book from Amazon immediately and had to wait a few weeks for it, as it was out of stock due to the publicity from Sam.

The book arrived last week and has been something I have been immediately drawn to read from cover to cover.

The book discusses eliminating or cutting down sugar, dairy and gluten foods from our diets, because not only do these foods make us put on weight but more importantly,  they are causing all sorts of health issues, some of which we will not learn about until later in life.

My initial aim is to cut down on gluten as I know this will be the hardest thing for me to crack. Amelia does not claim that following this plan is easy and cutting out foods can be done overnight but I think following her gluten replacement and recipe ideas will certainly start the process of me cutting it down from my diet.

Eat. Nourish. Glow. talks about going back to basics, cooking simple meals from scratch and being more considerate about what we put in to our bodies. This is something I would really like to get in to the habit of doing, as there are too many occasions where neither myself nor my boyfriend are willing to cook and will just rely on a takeaway instead.

I'm looking forward to now starting this process and will keep you all informed on  how I get on.

  1. This book sounds good but I am not sure if I could follow it. To me, it seems to just be jumping on the bandwagon of the lastest fads - cutting out dairy and gluten. I am interested in the part about going back to basics though as I really need to eat cleaner but find it can be a lot harder than you think. Keep us updated on your process!
